This is our last day on Dauphin Island and migration is done here, all birds have flown north and we will pull up stakes and follow.  Our bird total here was 175 species with 31 species of warblers, a very successful stay.

Our plans are to drive northeast to the Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina and Virginia, to visit dear friends near Lynchburg.  Then around the big cities and into New England, the Maritime Provinces and a ferry trip back to Newfoundland.  Praying for God's safety and His ever abiding grace along the way as we enjoy His creation.

Dauphin Island - Part 2

It has been amazing birding on this small island.  What a great three weeks it has been so far, with over 165 species of birds including 29 species of warblers.  Locals say it is the best it has been in years.

Early morning, we drove to the small airport, and this Red Fox was the only movement on the tarmac.

We have another week to enjoy here, we don't think it can get any better than it has been, but who knows... a new bird is just around the next bend in the trail.
