San Diego County

We have been at Campland on the Bay for the last three weeks.   Here's a look at it from across the biological reserve to the west on the north end of Mission Bay in San Diego.

One day birding trip to the southern border by Imperial Beach.  Got there to see the beautiful sunrise over the Tijuana River.  Our target bird arrived at first light - the Black-throated Magpie-Jay from Mexico.

We had over 100 species of birds just in the Mission Bay area.  We walked some of the same areas each day and yet found something new every day.

Red-crowned Parrots

Another day trip took us to the San Diego River, the ocean beach and Tecolote Canyon Nature Center.  This little Burrowing Owl has his photo taken many times every day.

Sunrise after the storm

Although California has had plenty of rain now, we did not have the worst of the storms.  We had a sand storm before the rain arrived,  but most of our days here have been nice.  Tomorrow we head east to the Salton Sea for a couple weeks of birding, (Of course).
Love & Prayers,
