Northern Wisconsin

British Soldiers - Lichens


Traveling north, we stopped for a couple nights and stayed at Ida's sister's yard near Westfield.  Ty did some yard work for her and walked the surrounding woods for interesting photo opportunities.

We stayed three days in the Nicolet National Forest near Three Lakes to explore the roads looking for boreal birds and migrating warblers.

We stopped at Copper Falls State Park and walked the trails to the falls in the drizzly rain.

We then drove north to the Brule River and stopped at the Stone Bridge Canoe Landing.

That night we spent at Pattison State Park and in the morning walked to the Manitou Falls in the rain.

We then drove into Superior and the Northland RV Park where we would spend the next 17 nights.  We are birding each day on Wisconsin Point looking for Arctic birds coming across Lake Superior heading to wintering grounds.
