West Texas

 

After crossing the mountain pass around El Paso we headed east to the highest point in 
Texas.  Guadalupe Mountain Peak is 8,749 feet high, We stayed at the National Park.

We drove south to Van Horn and spent one night.  A nearby pond had American Avocets.

Next stop was Davis Mountains State Park - colorful sunrise

Rugged rock formations surround the campground

White-winged Doves slap each other over food competition.

California Ground Squirrel loads up his cheeks.

We then drove south toward Mission, TX stopping at Uvaldi and Salanino.
