Livingston - Spring? Back into winter

 

Roadside Bald Eagle on trip north to Wilsall

Sandhill Cranes arrived and are calling loudly

Cranes over irrigation system

Hoping to see Snow Geese - successful!



Snow Geese look for food with Canada Geese

God paints the sky at sunset

New Moon

And then there were hundreds of Snow Geese

Coming in for a landing at Cottonwood Reservoir




Tundra Swans keep a open water area and snow Geese come to join in

There were thousands of Tundra Swans and Snow Geese plus several species of ducks.
Swans and Snow Geese blend into the ice covered lake.

Canada Geese join in too.

Golden Eagle on their favorite cliff

Pine Siskin, one of many that flushed along the mountain forest roads

Aspen Catkins, open in 60 degree temperatures



Neighborhood Red-tailed Hawk

Ground Squirrels, popping up from hibernation

Sharp-shinned Hawk watching for birds to come to the feeder
He successfully catches a starling, which he can have them all.

Black-capped Chickadees coming into the feeder

Come grabs a sunflower seed and retreats back to the bush

Black-billed Magpie bringing out the Spring colors

Red-winged Blackbirds are singing out for Spring

House Finches are pairing up for nesting 

White-tailed Deer herd, 9 of 15 in our back yard

Another unique sunrise

Winter returns for a day, with about 6 inches of snow, much needed for moisture

Spruce cones frosted with snow

Am. Robin, not finding worms today

Snow-face yearling digs for grass.

We are sure Spring will return soon.
